Transfer: Why Pogba will no longer move to Real Madrid this year

'Zidane made me feel special, he would tell me: 'you'll make a difference''

'He made me feel special' - Cristiano Ronaldo full of praise for Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane

Los Blancos' season could be over before it has even started after reports surfaced on Tuesday that Zidane is considering leaving the club.

While the Premier League transfer window is now closed, clubs across the rest of Europe have until September 2 (aside from Italy, where the window closes on August 23) to sign the Serbia worldwide, who hit 27 goals in 46 games at Frankfurt last season.

And, now, journalist Diego Torres has told the Independent that Zidane is on the brink of RESIGNING having not got his man.

Failing to sign Pogba is seen as a huge blow to Zinedine Zidane, who identified Pogba as a core part of his squad rebuild.

Ronaldo left Madrid ahead of the 2018-19 season, joining Juventus in a blockbuster deal after three consecutive Champions League titles under Zidane's leadership.

"For Zidane, his project and Pogba are nearly the same thing".

Tensions between the 47-year-old manager and Perez were already high after the president reportedly vetoed Zidane's decision to sell Gareth Bale, and the club's failure to sign Pogba might be the final straw for the Frenchman.

As such, Real appear to have turned their attention to Neymar, and The Sun claim that they will only return for Pogba if they fail to lure Neymar to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, largely due to the financial cost of pursuing both players. Let us have your thoughts by commenting below.
