Welcoming the TV logo announcement, OnePlus has further explained how they have finalized the design. The Shenzhen-based company said that its first smart TV product would be simply called the OnePlus TV, which is notably the original name of the project that was announced past year.
Little else was known, beside this, but just recently, a community representative took to the OnePlus forums and actually confirmed what the TV will be called, sharing alongside a (supposedly) final logo for the device. The logo design follows the similar concept 'inspired by classic geometric progression.' While describing the logo, it says that many classic art forms, such the ancient Hindu symbol, the mandala, and the famous ancient Greek temple, Heraion of Argos are the inspiration behind it.
OnePlus said it will keep its promise to award the winners of the "OnePlus TV: You Name It" contest and give an even bigger prize to the person who first named its new product the OnePlus TV.
The project to develop the OnePlus TV was announced back in September a year ago. The "OnePlus TV" will deliver user-centric breakthrough innovation and represents the company's values, vision and focus, said OnePlus in a press statement on Wednesday. "As other consumer electronics have evolved and improved our lives, televisions have remained conventional and cumbersome", said Lau. Nevertheless, the key features and specifications of the smart TV are yet to be announced.
The OnePlus TV is an extension of the brand's "Never Settle" mindset. However, a recent leak showed the the OnePlus TV will come with a Bluetooth remote. It received a Bluetooth SIG certification in July with model number RC-001A.
