Heading into training camp, fans new Luck had a slight injury that was keeping him from practice.
Andrew Luck remains sidelined with a nagging calf injury, but that hasn't kept him from throwing the football.
In an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Irsay said Luck has a bone issue in his lower left leg. "It's a bone - I'm not good at these things - but it's. a small little bone".
The revelation adds to the big question: when will luck be ready to play? "I think after the [Kevin] Durant thing everyone's erring on the side of caution, but, quite frankly, this is not even in the Achilles tendon".
Luck suffered the calf injury in April and did not take part in the team's spring minicamp.
"But he's doing very well".
"We're three-and-a-half weeks away from regular season, so I'm not ready to say (Luck's regular-season opener is in jeopardy)", Ballard told reporters on a conference call Tuesday night. Irsay originally said late in 2016 that Luck would not need surgery to fix the torn labrum in his shoulder, an injury that had been plaguing him for more than a year, but he underwent the procedure in January 2017.
