'SERIOUS IRREGULARITIES': Attorney General Vows Full Investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's Death in Custody

Epstein was meant to be checked every 30 minutes, but investigators have learned that these checks weren't performed in the hours leading up to Epstein's death.

Epstein had been placed on suicide watch after he was found a little over two weeks ago with bruising on his neck, according to a person familiar with the matter who wasn't authorized to discuss it publicly.

According to the New York Times, Chief Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson is "confident the cause of death is suicide by hanging", but she has not yet released an official ruling on the manner or cause of Epstein's death.

Federal prosecutors in NY are pursuing a parallel investigation into whether any if his associates will face charges for assisting him in what authorities say was his rampant sexual abuse of girls as young as 14.

Police reports say Epstein's assistants worked like an advance team to facilitate his twice-daily massages, often from high school girls who were paid hundreds of dollars per "appointment".

Federal prosecutors in NY reopened the probe after investigative reporting by The Miami Herald stirred outrage over that plea bargain.

For more than a decade, the union that represents federal correctional officers has been warning of what it describes as "unsound" and "dangerous" staffing levels at prisons around the country.

Guards in Jeffrey Epstein's unit were working "extreme overtime" in the hours before his death, leaving gaps in his supervision, United States media report.

An inmate in the same unit where Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself heard nothing the morning of his death - but "knows a heck of a lot about what went on", his lawyer said in a new report. "The victims deserve justice, and we will ensure they get it".
