'Little Women' opens in Canadian theatres on December 25. Jo is the cool one, Meg is the mumsy one, Beth is the quiet one and Amy is the young one, but you just know that, as with the original tome, there's much more to them than that, and we have faith Gerwig will dig into the layers. It doesn't seem weighed down by the pretense of many period pieces and, true to Gerwig's style the trailer exhibits an intense interest in the artistic and creative lives of its characters. However, rather than coming off as discordant or ahistorical, the approach works. Watch the Little Women trailer below. Sony Pictures has finally debuted the first official trailer for Little Women, another big screen adaptation based on the beloved classic American novel of the same name (there was also a film in 1994 based on it featuring Winona Ryder).
The film opens in the United States on Christmas Day and in the UK on Boxing Day.
The novel was first released in 1868 and tells the story of Alcott in the form of her alter ego, Jo, as she reminisces on her own life with her sisters as they try to forge paths of their own.
