Aston Villa sign Egypt winger Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan

Aston Villa have signed Egypt global Mahmoud Hassan, better known by his nickname "Trezeguet", from Turkish side Kasimpasa, the newly promoted Premier League side said on Wednesday.

Following two stellar seasons with Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig, where he scored 25 goals and provided 18 assists in 71 games, as well as an impressive performance with Egypt in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Trezeguet was linked with a move to several European clubs.

Known as "Trezeguet", Hassan has previously enjoyed stints at Anderlecht and Mouscron in Belgium after starting his career with Egypt's Al Ahly.

"We're really excited to work with "Trez", head coach Dean Smith said in a statement https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2019/07/24/trezeguet-signs-for-aston-villa after completing Villa's ninth signing of a busy close season.

Villa boss Dean Smith bought Benrahma from Nice previous year whilst he was in charge of the Bees and he is now keen to add him to their long list of signings this transfer window.

The Clarets and Blue confirmed the transfer on Thursday though it is still subject to a work permit and worldwide clearance. Forbes have updated Sawiris' net worth to £7.9bn, up from £6.4bn back in March, with Villa's promotion back to the Premier League a factor in the rise, together with other business deals.
