Ravichandran Ashwin's Strange Bowling Action During Dindigul Dragons-Chepauk Super Gillies TNPL Match Leaves

Bowling for Dindigul Dragons in the Tamil Nadu Premier League on Friday, Ashwin bowled a very unusual ball, which has got fans talking. His attacking knock took the Dindigul Dragons score to 63/2 after 8 overs before he was out caught and bowled by Murugan Ashwin. He also took the responsibility of bowling the final over of the match. The incident took place on the fourth delivery of the last over of the match with Chepauk Super Gillies still needing 17 runs off 2 deliveries with only a wicket in hand.

With Chepauk needing 17 runs off just two balls to win on Friday, Ashwin made a decision to use the opportunity to unleash his latest manoeuvre and leave the batsman as well as the fans in shock.

R Ashwin bowled without using his full action, not using his front arm and delivered the ball wrong-footed.

Ashwin scored 37 off 19 balls and smashed five boundaries, the most hit by any batsman in the match.

Did Ashwin chuck? Or was it just a "dead arm action"?

It isn't however the first time in 2019 that Ashwin has managed to surprise the cricket fans. In the end, Dindigul Dragons won the match match by 10 runs.

Earlier in the year, Ashwin made the headlines when he "mankaded" Jos Buttler during the Indian Premier League. The incident however didn't sit down well with cricket fans who termed it unprofessional, ugly and against the spirit of the game.
