'Descendants 3' Trades Red Carpet Premiere With Donation in Cameron Boyce's Honor

Following the death of Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce earlier this month, Disney has made the decision to cancel the upcoming red carpet event for Descendants 3.

Descendants 3 will premiere on the Disney Channel August 2, which will be dedicated the young actor, who plays Carlos - Cruella de Vil's son. The 20-year-old actor died in his sleep following a seizure last Saturday, brought on by an existing medical condition.

Before his death, Cameron also opened up about making his mark in his final interview while speaking with Haute Living about how he wanted to live up to the reputation of his family in his philanthropic endeavors. One of those included Cameron's Descendants co-star Dove Cameron, who recently broke her silence about his death and shared an emotional video on Instagram, revealing how hard she was taking the tragic news.

Descendants 3 will wrap up the Disney Channel original franchise, which follows the adventures of the offspring of Disney's most notorious villains.

"Yes, he died. Yes, I'm sad", she wrote.

Boyce, 20, began acting at a young age and starred in Jessie, Descendants and the Grown Ups movies, among others.
