Should the transfer go through, the £25m would be the biggest in the history of Scottish football, currently, the £19.7m Lyon paid Celtic for Moussa Dembele last summer stands as the largest.
Lennon is hoping though that the extended rest might be good for his player in the long run.
"He is rehabbing. He had the double hernia, and he still has the osteitis pubis problem, so it's a slow burner".
"I don't think it gets any worse, but there's just a constant boring pain there". I have seen that. But right now, he still feels a lot of discomfort with it.
"I honestly think Jamesy is the poster boy for the club".
Now Arsenal have made a fresh attempt to have a bid accepted by Celtic and it is claimed they have offered in the region of £25m for the Scotland worldwide. Rather than talking about people leaving the club we've got one there who wants to stay.
"He now has some competition in Boli (Bolingoli-Mbombo) too, so that means he can step in".
Already players like Mikael Lustig, Scott Allan and Dedryck Boyata have been released by the club this summer and as per Neil Lennon, a few others are also expected to follow.
"He should hopefully be fit in another month, and we will look to get him out on the grass maybe next week", he said.
