The sentence, the minimum that 28-year-old Brittany Zamora faced, was the culmination of a sensational case that drew worldwide attention, The Arizona Republic reported.
During the 28-year-old's appearance in court for her sentencing on Friday, she claimed she was a "genuine person who made a mistake".
She issued an apology to the victims, their families, and her own family today, saying that she is "not a threat to society".
Zamora had a sexual encounter with the victim at least once at school while another minor was in the room.
She also claimed she planned to attend counselling, and earn a new degree while in prison so that she could pursue a new career when released.
The parents of the boy found out the married Zamora was having sex with their son after they began monitoring his phone with an app.
Zamora had faced more than 40 years in prison for her guilty pleas to sexual conduct with a minor, attempted child molestation and public sexual indecency.
The 13-year-old boy's mother said that Zamora's mind is "sick" and "foul" and that she deserves "to leave prison when you are too old to bear children".
These later became nude photos before the teacher sexually molested the 13-year-old in a classroom while other students watched an educational video.
"She's a pedophile and no different than if a man were sitting in her place right now".
Despite expressing regret inside court, her lawyer read a statement on behalf of her outside court blaming the teenager and claiming she was the true victim.
"She tried to groom my child into believe this behaviour is OK", she said.
Brittany Zamora, 28, from Goodyear, will receive credit for the almost 500 days she has already served.
