The Prime Day dates are the same in Australia, however we get an extra 17 hours on the Global Store - giving us 65 hours of Prime Day deals. Just like Prime Day, Target's "Deal Days" event will be held from July 15 to July 16 and feature a flurry of discounts and deals on thousands of products.

While you're at it, here are some smart shopping tips to help you snag the best Prime Day deals. Overall, though, the average consumer purchasing tech on Prime Day plans to spend $119.54 on tech purchases this Prime Day.

There's 20 days to go until June 15 and Amazon Prime Day but here's a deal that is very much like an Amazon Prime Day deal, already.

This July, Amazon will host its longest Prime Day ever with 48 hours of deals.

The event was meant to serve as a version of Black Friday for Amazon users.

But many Amazon competitors have a bricks-plus-clicks edge. Savvy shoppers can get a head start by seeing what the retailer has to offer here. But, more importantly, Amazon uses the savings event to spotlight its own products and hook new members on Prime, a subscription program that more than 100 million people around the world count on as an indispensable part of their shopping lives. But shoppers also snapped up more than 300,000 Instant Pots and 150,000 LifeStraw Personal Water Filters, not to mention millions of pencils and pens ahead of back-to-school season.

While Amazon keeps its Prime Day revenue figures secret, the firm did disclose previous year that the discount-laden day was its "biggest global shopping event ever".

Ask Alexa: Why move at all?

Among other discounts expected are considerable markdowns on all Amazon Alexa-enabled devices, with further offers and new product launches to be revealed in the run-up to the event. Prime Day 2018 featured 30% off home services, 30% off furniture and décor and up to 50% off apparel - all helping the retailer's private label brands gain a foothold in homes across the globe.

Prime members in several markets will be able to shop Prime Day deals, including the United States, UK, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria, Australia and United Arab Emirates, with that last country being a new addition to Prime Day sales. Half of Prime members surveyed (56% U.S., 50% U.K.) are likely to try a product they don't normally buy if offered a Prime Day discount.
