Twitch is taking an old school approach to Amazon Prime Day by running a two-day TV shopping channel livestream July 15 and 16. The channel will be hosted by various Twitch celebrities (a full list of hosts will be released on July 10). The stream will be viewable by anyone, however, only Prime members (in the U.S.) will be able to purchase the deals. Three more skins will be released to Prime members over the course of the month, and Amazon announced this afternoon that content will be released for "multiple EA SPORTS titles", presumably Federation Internationale de Football Association and Madden.
Prime Day itself starts at midnight on July 15 and will run through July 16. As with other gaming subscriptions such as PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold, Twitch Prime also gives away free monthly PC games to subscribers, as an added bonus.
"We hope our members are going to love all the Prime Day content as much as we do, and we can't wait to see everyone online for the Twitch Prime Crown Cup tournaments". Amazon also promises some unseen demos of the most anticipated game releases of the year.
On July 3, all Prime members will be rewarded with an exclusive Legend skin and weapon skin for Apex Legends.
"This summer, we're kicking off Prime Day in a big way, with in-game loot from Apex Legends and EA SPORTS, and Twitch Prime Crown Cup events in London and Las Vegas", said Ethan Evans, Twitch Prime vice-president. Just enter coupon code "PRIME2019" at checkout.
