The Spice Girls in Spice World

All five original members of the Spice Girls - including Victoria Beckham - will voice themselves in a planned animated movie which will feature original and new songs from the band.

Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria told the Hollywood Reporter that the band "hand an idea that we've been developing".

Even cooler is that the senior team behind Paramount Animation is largely made up of women, which feels appropriately fierce and feminist given the Spice Girls' longtime message of girl power.

The project is said to be in early development at this time.

Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Victoria Beckham (Posh) will all be involved. All five of them will be cast in the movie and, "They are very involved", in the production of it. It will be produced by Simon Fuller and written by Karen McCullah and Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith (Legally Blonde). A director has not yet been announced.

The Spice Girls first formed in 1994 and became the embodiment of girl power during the 1990s.

The group is now on its Spice World reunion tour sans Beckham, who has chosen to focus on her successful fashion line.

Spice World was the movie of the century when it was released in 1997, and now that the Spice Girls are back, so are their big-screen opportunities. While it doesn't yet have a title or release date, when it does hit theaters, that's where you wannabe.
