If you're a vehicle owner who happened to watch the entire event, chances are the Cupertino-based tech company left you impressed with the changes it's making to CarPlay.

For Apple's 2019 WWDC, the company made a decision to add some killer new functionality to CarPlay that makes it even easier to use.

Apple claims the update is the biggest since CarPlay was first announced in 2014. In terms of usability, Apple Maps can be set to always stay on the dashboard, and a "Junction View" feature shows a more detailed view of intersection-though we're guessing most people around here prefer to use Waze.

Apple is scheduled to host its Annual developer conference later today and the company is expected to announce new hardware as well as software updates to both Macs and mobile devices. "MDM gives a third-party control and access for a device and its most sensitive information, including user location, app use, email accounts, camera permissions, and browsing history".

Digging deeper, CarPlay adds on a "Do Not Disturb While Driving" mode that prevents notifications, similar to what's already available on iPhones.

If you live in the USA and you have a day job, you probably didn't get a chance to watch the whole thing live.

For automakers, Apple now allows them to develop CarPlay systems that change the size of the display dynamically, even for non-rectangular screens. The Apple Events page should work on all the devices and browsers including Apple devices.
