Chemirmir who hails from Kabunyony village, Eldama Ravine in Baringo County worked as a health worker.
A Kenyan man being held by United States authorities has been slapped with 11 more murder charges after he was initially arrested in March 2018 over the death of 81-year-old Dallas woman, Lu This Harris.
Kim Leach, a spokeswoman for the Dallas County district attorney's office, said 46-year-old Billy Chemirmir was indicted Tuesday on six more counts of capital murder in the deaths of women ranging in age from 76 to 94.
The health care worker has now been charged with killing Phyllis Payne, 91, on May 14, 2016; Phoebe Perry, 94, on June 5, 2016; Norma French, 85, on October 8, 2016; Doris Gleason, 92, on October 29, 2016; Rosemary Curtis, 76, on January 17, 2018; and Mary Brooks on January 31, 2018.
"We certainly think he should have been noticed on the day Doris Gleason was murdered", Arnold told the station.
Chemirmir is also facing two counts of attempted murder in Collin County, where authorities say he tried to smother two other women.
Billy Chemirmir was arrested last year and charged with murder in the death of an 81-year-old woman.
Chemirmir, who worked as a nurse in his native Kenya, is at the center of an investigation into almost 1,000 unexplained deaths in Texas, according to KRLD. According to the Morning News, the woman told police that Chemirmir told her he was a maintenance worker and when she said she didn't need any work and refused to let him in, he forced his way inside and subdued her by knocking her walker to the ground. The woman was smothered with a pillow into unconsciousness and robbed.
Chemirmir's attorney, Phillip Hayes, said Thursday that this week's charges were a surprise and that he hadn't had time to review them yet. The box led police to Harris' home, where she had been killed. "Officers were able to associate the name found in the jewelry box to an address in the city of Dallas", according to a press release posted on the Dallas Police Department's website.
In addition to the murder charges, Chemirmir is being held on a charge of being in the country illegally. He also allegedly attacked a 93-year-old woman in 2017 at a Frisco assisted living facility. He reportedly told her to "go to bed".
Afraid for her life, the woman said she was praying out of fear she would die.
Police had been following Chemirmir in the investigation of a 91-year-old woman who was assaulted in her apartment in Plano when Chemirmir was seen dumping a jewelry box in a trash bin in Dallas.
After her face was covered with a pillow, she lost consciousness, but was later revived by Plano Fire and Rescue, where she revealed her attacker had stolen jewelry from her.
