Browns begin 2019 OTAs in Berea

As soon as Odell Beckham Jr. was traded from the New York Giants to the Cleveland Browns, the Browns, who have consistently been a laughing stock, turned into a contender.

OTAs consist of 10 voluntary days over the next three weeks. But as today's featured article points out, it is unknown if Beckham will be participating in the team's workouts.

OBJ was spotted at the Browns facility Monday, in an Instagram Live story of fellow receiver Antonio Callaway, per Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer, the first time he's been at the complex since April 1.

New Browns coach Freddie Kitchens defended Beckham's decision to miss voluntary practices, saying he was in constant touch with the 26-year-old and confident he would be "ready to play". Kitchens stayed in contact with Beckham while he was away.

I personally feel that all things considered, the Detroit Lions did a solid job for themselves during free agency and the 2019 NFL Draft. "I'd rather him be here". But under no circumstance am I going to say that I'm pissed off at Odell for not being here. The only practice open to the media this week is on Wednesday.

Beckham's arrival in Cleveland, where he'll join quarterback Baker Mayfield and good friend Jarvis Landry, has driven up expectations for the Browns, who went 7-8-1 last season.
