And by "discussed, ' what we really mean is: He considered riding a sled pulled by 400 hamsters, made Trump jokes, and explained why carbon taxing may be an important tool in the climate fight".

Children's television personality Bill Nye - aka Bill Nye the Science Guy - has told politicians to "grow the f-k up" and put more resources into fighting climate change.

The clip encompassed much more than just Bill Nye's viral video sketch. "You're not children anymore!" I didn't mind explaining photosynthesis to when you were 12, but you're adults now, and this is an actual crisis! Nye stated, "Here, I've got an experiment for you. Got it?!" Removing his glasses, he snapped, "Safety glasses off, motherf*****s!"

Recently, Bill Nye had a segment on John Oliver's HBO show "Last Week Tonight" where he kept it very candid about climate change. The deal, sponsored by Rep.

"However bumpy its rollout was, to its eternal credit, the Green New Deal has succeeded in getting people talking", Oliver said.

The late-night show host was also discussing a new report from the United Nations that warned that the planet could experience a lasting change as early as 2040 due to climate change.

"There are a lot of things we could do to put it out", Mr. Nye continued, gesturing to a fire extinguisher, blanket and bucket of sand. No, of course not.

"Nothing's free you idiots!"

Needless to say, Nye's now-adult fans are shook.

"When we release carbon", Nye said, pointing to pictures of various disasters taped to a chalkboard, "all of us pay for that in the form of things like fires, floods and crop failures".

Nye was invited to explain some of the topics like the Green New Deal, studies which warned of food shortages and wildfires as well as carbon pricing - with his unique brand of teaching. "Carbon emissions are by far the largest source of greenhouse gases, yet right now it's basically free to pollute the air with carbon dioxide, which is a little bit weird when you think about it", Oliver said.

AOC gets it. She sees that fear is dividing us. "No one solution is going to be almost enough" to combat climate change, and there are lots of ideas.
