Bill Nye on Climate Change: "The Planet's on F**king Fire"

Bill Nye Joins John Oliver For Blistering Takedown of Green New Deal Critics: ‘The Planet’s on F*cking Fire’

The science guy we all know and love was featured in Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and dropped some F-bombs to discuss the severity of the issue.

Bill Nye spoke on emissions and how there is a potential risk of the average temperature on Earth rising a few degrees, and summed it up by saying "What I'm saying is the planet's on f**king fire". "We're going to need a lot of different policies working in tandem, and we have to take action right now!" No, of course not.

When Mr. Oliver asked Mr. Nye if he had "a fun experiment for us", the show cuts to Mr. Nye saying: "Here I have a fun experiment for you". The video sketch followed John Oliver speaking favorably about the deal and Bill Nye donned his traditional lab coat, bow-tie, and safety glasses yet he wasn't the same science expert children grew up with on PBS and its affiliates.

The Green New Deal's main proponent, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), rightly "admits the rollout of the Green New Deal was "the biggest mistake" she's made in Congress", largely because she released a draft Q&A that contained what's "clearly supposed to be a joke" about getting rid of "farting cows and airplanes", Oliver said, thus allowing certain named "idiots to pretend the Green New Deal was all about hamburger-stealing". "You're not children anymore!" But you're adults now, and this is an actual crisis, got it? Safety glasses off, motherf***ers.?

"It is a non-binding resolution that very briefly sets out some extremely aggressive goals, including achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, meeting 100% of the country's power demand through clean, renewable and zero-emission energy sources and creating millions of good, high-wage jobs in the United States", the host explained.

Nye first shows up at the 10:20 mark of the video below to explain "the complicated logic behind carbon pricing". When you drive above the speed limit, you pay a fine. Is that fine worth it?

Bill Nye has finally reached his burning point. And because for some reason, John, you're a 42-year-old man who needs his attention sustained by tricks, here's some f-ing Mentos and a bottle of Diet Coke.
