Then there's the whole Kyler Murray saga and the apparent waning confidence that he'll end up the first overall pick to the Arizona Cardinals. NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah tweeted Monday that his confidence has dropped in Murray going No. 1; we dig into whether he's hedging his bet or if there's a legitimate reason to think Murray could slip from the top spot. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was coached by new Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech as a freshman before being benched in favor of Patrick Mahomes and transferring to Oklahoma, where he became a Heisman Trophy victor and the 2018 No. 1 overall pick in the draft. That could lead to the Cardinals trading quarterback Josh Rosen, whom the Cardinals selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2018 draft.
Keim said he wouldn't talk about whether he's received calls to trade the first pick or a specific player.
The 2019 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away, and teams across the league are finalizing their big boards.
Keim said Rosen has been a "pro's pro" throughout the process.
Keim said watching the speculation abound has been "fun" and "exciting".
The Cardinals could also trade the No. 1 pick in the draft, which the Cardinals own for the first time in 60 years.
"Ninety-six percent of kids who just signed a $4.6 million deal to play baseball wouldn't have been on no football field the following fall", says Kevin Murray.
"I usually try to be straightforward with you guys, but at this time of year, we all know the drill", he said.
Oakland has already paid Murray $1.5 million of the bonus and he has to repay $1.29 million of that amount and forfeit the rest.
