The former first lady used the clumsy metaphor to describe Trump's unexpected electoral appeal during the latest stage of her whistle-stop Becoming book tour in London on Tuesday.
"We come from a broken family, we are a little unsettled", Obama said, referring to the US. But the superstar is spending it by showering her praise on a fan and friend close to her heart: the former first lady. That feels like it's fun but then you get sick. "We are living with divorced dad".
Watch Hannity's opening monologue above.
Obama did not mention Trump by name, but had referred to him indirectly during the event.
She said "we're in a low, but we've been lower" and "any story has its highs and lows, but it continues". Yes, we are in a low but we have been lower.
"She empowers all of us to interrogate our fears and surpass greatness".
"We have always come out at the other end - better and stronger", she said.
The award-winning vocalist continued to state that she appreciates the fact that her children get to move through this world with a person like Mrs. Obama as a leader and "a beacon of hope" who'll encourage future generations. We are moving in a direction of diversity and inclusion. "We are just in the throes of the uneasy path of change".
She also talked about the bogus birther conspiracy that Trump had championed for years. Who has been asked to show his transcripts?
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a USA lawmaker, Ilhan Omar, described President Trump's tweets as a "violent rhetoric" capable of increasing death threat to her life. The uncharacteristically snide comments, which attempted to explain America's decision to elect the controversial Republican president in 2016, were greeted with anger as many took offence to the stereotype of divorced dads being poor parents.
