An Ohio man was arrested on Tuesday after police said he violently swung an iguana by its tail over his head and flung it at a restaurant.

Painesville police said officers responded to a call of an unruly customer at the all-day breakfast joint just before noon on Tuesday.

They say the 49-year-old also was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Police say a man accused of throwing an iguana at a manager in an OH restaurant has been arrested on charges including animal cruelty.

The man left the restaurant and an officer found the man nearby on Mentor Avenue.

The iguana, named Copper, is now in the custody of the Lake County Humane Society and will be evaluated by a veterinarian.

Cooper was then handed over to the Lake County Humane Society, which will have one of its veterinarians examine him for injuries.

It's unclear as to what led the suspect to tossing the lizard at the manager.
