Hoda Kotb announces second adoption, welcomes Hope Catherine

Hoda Kotb adopts another baby girl and can't wait to share the joy

Hoda Kotb announced Tuesday that she has adopted a second child

For now it remains unclear how long Kotb's new parent leave will be - or who will be filling in for her. Yahoo has reached out to a rep for the Today show and will update this story when we hear back.

It's a girl! "TODAY" star Hoda Kotb announced on the show that she's now the mother of TWO adorable little girls after adopting another daughter. Hope Catherine joins 2-year-old sister Haley Joy.

Hoda Kotb is officially a mom times two!

Kotb shared photos and details about her baby girl in an interview with Savannah Guthrie and her other co-hosts.

Kotb gushed on the phone, "It's a girl!" before announcing the little one's name was Hope Catherine Kotb.

It was just a few weeks ago that Hoda Kotb released her new children's book, You Are My Happy.

"Hoda's a momma again". She's trying to help by offering to feed the newborn raspberries for breakfast to which Kotb told her "not yet, babe".

Now, she and partner Joel Schiffman happily have both hands full. And it's the closest thing to a live birth I think you'll ever see.

Kotb recalled how her heart grew after holding Hope for the first time in the delivery room. "It's fantastic. I can't believe it's happening".

Shortly after the adoption of Kotb's first daughter, Haley, she opened up about her hard journey to motherhood. Hope, because she hoped, prayed, and dreamed about having another child. "Sometimes in your life, things just don't work out for whatever reason, so you say, 'Well, I wasn't meant to have that.' But it was really hard to come to terms with it".

Hoda went on to explain how she and her longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman found it in their hearts to raise another child.

"Finally I said to myself one day, 'Why can't I? It felt nearly selfish", Kotb explained. "Let's get this journey going'". Haley Joy was born on Valentine's Day. "But it feels totally real".
