After a week of "X" teases on social media, Madonna unveiled the trailer for her 14th studio album, Madame X, on Sunday.
While the seven-time Grammy victor kept most of the details about the new music under wraps, she did share a few hints with her fans.
This marks the 60 year old superstar's first full length LP since Rebel Heart back in 2015.
In her posts on Instagram, Madonna explained to her many followers that Madame X's persona is a secret agent 'traveling around the world, changing identity, fighting for freedom, and bringing light to dark places. "It's also such a nice antidote to what's going on in the music business now where everything's so formulaic, and every song has 20 guest artists on it, and everyone sounds the same". It has been confirmed she will perform a brand new song as well as one of her classic tracks.
A snippet of new music plays in the background, featuring lyrics like, "The thing that hurt the most is that I wasn't lost".
Madonna then shared three videos of herself in character as Madame X.
Madonna seemingly teased new music was coming during her performance at last year's Met Gala, where she sang an unreleased tune rumored to be called "Beautiful Game".
The star sang lyrics like: 'It's a lovely plan, but I am not concerned / It's a handsome game, I never learned.
