Oppo to Discontinue R Series to Favour Reno and Find Series

With the new Reno series, Oppo is trying to prove itself as a technology leader in the smartphone market and the new Reno 10X Zoom Edition is only the second smartphone after Huawei P30 Pro to offer 10x lossless zoom. The R series, Find series, and the new Reno series pretty much showcase the best that Oppo has on offer. What this is means is that there wouldn't be any new OPPO R series phone in the future and the earlier released R17 and the R17 Pro might be the last smartphones of the wonderful line-up.

This means we should expect a follow-up of the Find X, but we are yet to see if it will be named Find X2, Find Y or Oppo has something else up its sleeve. The last phone to launch in the Find series in India was the Oppo Find X which had for a sliding mechanism for its cameras.

After the launch of the OPPO Reno brand and the new smartphones the company's Global Vice President Shen Yiren had held a conference wherein he had an interview in which he had stated some interesting new changes regarding the current OPPO R series smartphone line-up, suggests a new Chinese report.

Earlier this year Oppo also dropped the plan of launching next R series smartphone that could be Oppo R19. Instead, the company will be focusing on Oppo Reno and Oppo Find series, which will meet all the customers' demand.

The Reno comes in two versions: the Reno and the Reno 10x Zoom Edition.

The standard edition of Oppo Reno features a 6.4-inch display while the Zoom Edition has a larger 6.65-inch display. The former has a 6.4-inch OLED screen, a Snapdragon 710 processor, and a secondary ultrawide camera, while the latter has a 6.6-inch display, a Snapdragon 855, as well as that 10x-zoom third camera that Oppo has been touting for a while. It has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor alongside a f/1.7 aperture. It has a 13-megapixel auxiliary sensor with a periscope zooming lens on top and a 8-megapixel excessively wide-edge lens.
