Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill is now under investigation for alleged battery. "We are in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities".
According to a police report obtained by the paper, the Overland Park (Kansas) Police Department are investigating a battery incident involving a juvenile with Hill's fiancee, Crystal Espinal, listed under "others involved".
One source provided some details about the incident, saying that the victim is actually Hill's 3-year-old son, and it is believed he actually suffered a broken arm.
The Chiefs confirmed to the Star that they aware of an investigation involving Hill.
"A source familiar with the situation said Hill's fiancee has been in contact with Overland Park police", the Star's Steve Vockrodt and Brooke Pryor reported.
Hill pleaded guilty in 2015 to domestic assault and battery by strangulation after punching and choking Espinal, who was then eight weeks pregnant with their son, on December 11, 2014. No charges have been filed against Hill, and Johnson County prosecutor's spokeswoman Kristi Bergeron didn't immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
Hill has a history of domestic violence.
A judge deferred his sentence and those charges were eventually expunged, court records show. Following the 2016 NFL Draft, the Chiefs faced some backlash for selecting Hill, who pleaded guilty to abusing and strangling Espinal while the two were in college. "We would never put anybody in this community in harm's way".
Last season he had 87 catches for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Hill is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and the Chiefs had been building their roster to create enough salary cap flexibility to sign him to a long-term deal.
