NFL free agency rumors: Dolphins re-sign DeVante Parker

A native of Jackson, Miss.

According to multiple reports, the Dolphins and Parker agreed on a $13 million extension.

In a stunning move, the Dolphins have re-signed Devante Parker to a 2 year deal, worth up to 13M.

Parker was heading into the final year of his rookie deal and was considered likely to reach to free agent market, but Miami is giving him a chance with their new regime.

Last season, Parker was plagued by injuries to his shoulder and finger as he played in only 11 games with just seven starts and one touchdown in 24 catches.

Parker, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound receiver, has the ability to take over games.

Last season Parker had a public dispute with then-head coach Adam Gase, which led to Gase sitting Parker for most of the season.

"Parker is not only healthy but wants to help this team win and the only real question that should be asked is how does Coach Gase justify his own incompetence", Gould said after the Dolphins' October 21 loss to the Lions.

Entering his fifth season in the NFL, Parker gets an opportunity for a fresh start with new Dolphins coach Brian Flores and his staff. He joins a receiving group that has Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson coming back from injuries.
