HBO Confirms 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Episode Debut Dates and Runtimes

According to fansite Winter Is Coming, the HBO schedule has revealed that the first of Game of Thrones' final six episodes will run for 54 minutes.

The first two episode run times were already confirmed, but HBO released all six on Friday. Well, just prepare to carve out a big chunk of your Sunday evenings for the next month or so come April. These are basically movies - short movies, granted - but still something that could play in a theater and feel no different in length than your average film.

The rest of the episodes will essentially be 'feature-length, ' with the third episode on April 28 spanning 82 minutes, the longest of the season.

In the almost 20 months since the Night King and his ice dragon took down the Wall in the closing scene of Game of Thrones' season 7 finale, fans have made countless predictions about what's to come in season 8. Of course, the most important thing here is that the episodes are the right length - enough for character moments, those epic battles we're all waiting for, and without bulk for the sake of bulk. "When brands and television series alike are able to move beyond their primary platform and spill into popular culture, we see inspiration". Between this and AVENGERS: ENDGAME this April will be one for the books, and for the tears.

Some fans will still be disappointed given the previous rumors that all six episodes of Game of Thrones eighth season would hit the 90-minute point.
