The OA Part II

The OA Part II

With the concept of traveling between dimensions established by the end of Season 1, the series (created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij) now has the freedom to go totally wild.

When we first meet the wounded heroine Prairie (Brit Marling) in season one of Netflix's sci-fi series The OA, we see what happens when a mad scientist named Hap (Jason Isaacs) kidnaps people and use them for risky experiments to test the boundaries of life and death. The streaming giant has premiered the first official trailer for the new season (embedded below), and it's full of the kind of cryptic mysteries and science-fiction mind-bending that turned the first batch of episodes into a cult favorite.

If you are new to the series, I highly recommend not watching the trailer below as how the story continues is something of a spoiler and can only truly wow if you're aware of how different it is from season one.

Meanwhile, back in the original dimension, BBA aka Betty (Phyllis Smith), Angie (Chloë Levine) and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA's story and the incredible realities she described.

"We think of "Part 2" as very much a noir", added Batmanglij, "We wanted to come in through the character of a cynical detective". Once they cross paths, Washington and OA join forces to locate Vu, as they are ultimately drawn to a house on Nob Hill that is connected to the disappearance of multiple teenagers. Films like The Big Sleep didn't seem antiquated [when they came out].

The OA returns to Netflix on Friday, March 22, 2019. "That's why we thought, 'What better place than San Francisco and the tech world to set a noir today?'"
