Spyro fans had their hopes dashed past year, with no sign that the developer had even attempted to port its Reignited Trilogy to the Nintendo Switch. However, postings of Spyro coming to Switch appeared on Nintendo's own site in April and on the official Spyro page. It will launch on August 16, according to the listing.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy was released on Xbox One and PS4 back in November and it includes Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon in full remastered glory!
The remakes were a hit for Activision and Spyro fans. The remastered bundle made no mention of Nintendo's hybrid console in its initial reveal, but soon after the official Nintendo UK store temporarily accepted pre-orders for " Spyro the Dragon Remastered". The colors pop off the screen, the textures are crisp and the animations are fluid. As there has been no word of a Nintendo Switch release for the Reignited Trilogy from either publisher Activision or the titles developer, Toys For Bob.
The Reignited Trilogy seems to be following the same release date path as the Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy.
Nintendo's hand-held console has been rumored to be acquiring the classic purple dragon Spyro. Additionally, kart racer remake Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will be available on Switch on June 21, alongside the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
