Hulu Could Revive The Cancelled Marvel-Netflix TV Shows, Eventually

Marvel's Netflix shows might live on at Hulu

The Wrap recently spoke with Hulu's Senior Vice President of Original Programming, who explained that the network is "open" to the possibility of bringing the cancelled shows over from Netflix.

Last year, Netflix cancelled three Marvel series including Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the most surprising one, the fan-favorite Daredevil.

"It kind of just depends on when they're ready, [and] who, most importantly, is going to be behind these things", he said.

The Punisher just streamed its second season and Jessica Jones will stream its third later this year. As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as "The Punisher". In the wake of those cancellations, I speculated that the Marvel shows could end up on Hulu; once that streaming service becomes largely owned by Disney (the Mouse House will have 60% ownership as soon as the Fox acquisition goes through), Hulu is supposedly going to be the home for streaming content aimed at adult audiences. This also comes as Marvel TV's big-screen counterparts, Marvel Studios, are also developing multiple TV series for Disney+ that will star characters from the films including Loki, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Hulu has been working with Marvel for a little bit now with shows like THE RUNAWAYS, and with a new slew of animated shows in the works, and Erwich says they're open to becoming the new home to any number of Marvel titles. "Hit-Monkey" and "Tigra & Dazzler" - that will culminate in a crossover special, "The Offenders". I'm sure it will lead to - you know, business gets you business - we have a good creative relationship with them.
