It's a great day for angels and demons alike.
Well, here's an unexpected surprise: according to Variety, Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch will play Satan in Amazon's forthcoming adaptation of Good Omens, based on the novel of the same name from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
He was alongside stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen, who feature alongside Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, Adria Arjona, Michael McKean, Anna Maxwell Martin, Mireille Enos.
Set as the end of the world approaches, the series follows fussy Angel Aziraphale (Sheen) and a loose-living Demon Crowley (Tennant) who are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon as the end of the world approaches.

In Good Omens the actor, who rose to global prominence with his performance in the BBC's Sherlock Holmes update, will play what Gaiman described as "a giant, animated Satan" who stands "400 foot high". "We needed a performance that would work, so we found a young British actor who needed a lot of direction".
"We suddenly realised that we have Satan turning up in episode six, and we needed somebody who could actually give Frances McDormand a run for her money", Gaiman added.
Nothing further to report at this time, but with Good Omens hitting Amazon on May 31st, it's likely there'll be more updates in the near-ish future.
