Hazard: Mourinho 'special' but Sarri's style suits me

Report: Sarri has two weeks to save his job at Chelsea

Chelsea have touched base with Laurent Blanc to discuss the possibility of the Frenchman replacing Maurizio Sarri, it has been claimed.

Hazard's relationship with Mourinho reportedly soured towards the end of his tenure, but the forward has spoken of a desire to play under the ex-Manchester United manager again.

Sarri's position has come under increasing scrutiny following Chelsea's 6-0 humiliation at Manchester City, their worst league defeat since 1991.

But Hazard accepts the way he plays suits the type of football the Italian wants.

Maurizio Sarri will be hoping for an instant response from his Chelsea side when they take on Malmo in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie on Thursday evening.

"They all see football in different ways, which is why I'm the player I am. Jose Mourinho was special, but the way Sarri and [Rudi] Garcia like to play is more like my philosophy of football".

"It was the ideal season, with collective trophies and individual trophies".

"If the season goes in one direction that it becomes closed, and we can't win, I will just go with the kids".

"We lost against Arsenal and Liverpool and then completely changed the system".

Hazard has postponed contract talks in order to keep his summer options open, and last month Sarri said he should join Madrid at the end of the season if he believes that will make him happy.

The former Napoli boss was given little opportunity to really stamp his ideals on the squad, and club bosses are sympathetic to the fact that his pre-season preparations were cut short as they struggled to get rid of Antonio Conte until deep into the summer.
