Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher made a comparison between Wenger's Arsenal and Sarri's Chelsea FC after the landslide win for the hosts.
Unsurprisingly, bookmakers have Lampard listed as an option to take over should Sarri depart Stamford Bridge, yet Chelsea's all-time leading scorer hopes the current boss can turn around the team's fortunes. The start to life under the Italian tactician was nothing short of electric, with West Londoners often coasting to wins against smaller opposition.
The Daily Telegraph say Sarri's fate is set to be decided in the next fortnight and that he is struggling to stop the players from giving up on him. But, as the months have passed by, the honeymoon period seems to have well and truly ended. While they did promise much after beating Premier League champions Manchester City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, heavy defeats to Arsenal, Bournemouth and most recently to City on Sunday have seen the Blues drop down to sixth on the table.
"City have been outstanding, but this has been as bad as anything from Chelsea this season", Carragher told Sky Sports.
Chelsea also face Manchester United in the FA Cup, Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, and Tottenham in the league.
"Chelsea are certainly a club I respect and have a manager I respect".
Lampard, whose team are seventh in the second-tier Championship, said Chelsea had been beaten by a "great team" in champions City. It's so casual three or four minutes into a big game.
Sarri has found himself under pressure after a desperate run of results in his first season at Chelsea.
