Report: Toronto Raptors to sign veteran point guard Jeremy Lin

NBA: Raptors G VanVleet out 3 weeks with thumb injury

You know he's going to be prepared. The Raptors' All-Star forward is well aware of the opponent's shot blocking ability, so he made a decision to take a fade-away jumper instead of going straight to the basket.

The performance drew praise from Nurse. "Everyone who knows me knows how big my dreams are and that I have so much left to give to the game".

Toronto chipped away at Brooklyn's lead in the second.

Gasol had 16 points off the bench with 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter.

Gasol received a standing ovation when he checked in for Ibaka at 3:03 of the first.

Lin thanked the Hawks in his post, saying they helped him "become myself again on the basketball court and allowed me to experience the joy of hoops again!"

D'Angelo Russell scored 28 points and had a career-high 15 assists for Brooklyn.

Kawhi Leonard #2 of the Toronto Raptors looks on against the Milwaukee Bucks on January 31, 2019 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. With their 42nd victory, the team set a franchise high for most wins before the NBA All-Star Game.

Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet is expected to miss at least three weeks with a partial ligament injury to his left thumb.

VanVleet, who turns 25 on February 25, is expected to wear a splint for approximately three weeks, and his condition will then be updated.

The Raptors say the team will update his condition after the splint is removed.

VanVleet has been the backup point guard to Kyle Lowry.

Toronto acquired some insurance at the point guard position Monday (Tuesday, PHL time) when they agreed to sign veteran Jeremy Lin, who is being waived by the Atlanta Hawks.

The injury occurred during the second quarter of Saturday's win in NY against the Knicks.
