Toyota's TRD performance division has pulled the covers off the GR Supra Performance Line Concept, created to give prospective buyers a taste of how their cars could be accessorised in future. The aerodynamic package adds to what Toyota already offer.
TRD doesn't say whether it's done anything to the Supra's innards. There is a new carbon side skirt and a piece of carbon trim for the door. Completing the exterior make over is the carbon fiber trunk spoiler (not a large rear wing as we expected in the sketch) and the 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with a mesh design.
Much like the teaser photo, we can see that TRD has fitted a host of new stylish and functional parts to the GR Supra. We are sure that the next few years will see a healthy tuning industry built around the new Japanese sports auto. Despite having several similarities with the new BMW Z4, the Supra has been an instant hit among the hardcore enthusiasts but not everybody agrees with the way it looks. The engine that sits underneath is not Japanese. Power output is in confirmed at 340 hp and 500Nm of torque.
The recently unveiled Supra was sought after for several years as Toyota took quite a lot of time to come up with a brand new generation. It is claimed to accelerate from zero to 96 kmph in just 4.1 seconds and has its top speed electronically limited to 250 kmph. The proceeds of that sale will go to American Heart Association (AHA) and the Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF).
