Paul Scholes will be confirmed as the new manager of Oldham Athletic on Monday.
The Sky Bet League Two side have called a press conference for 2pm on Monday at which Scholes is expected to officially launch his managerial career.
It would be the 44-year-old's first managerial role in the EFL with a club he has followed since he was young.
However, the EFL board was said to have cleared him after holding an emergency meeting over his case. Salford, expectedly, will join League Two (where Oldham plays) next season and there were initial fears of conflict of interests.
Sky Sports further reports that the only restriction to the 44-year-old is he will not be allowed to sign players from, or sell to, Salford City.
Wild has taken charge of the Latics' last eight matches since Frankie Bunn was sacked after the 6-0 thrashing away to Carlisle on Boxing Day.
