Google rolling out Chrome 72 with bug fixes, newer features

Google confirms when Media Keys support is coming to Chrome for Windows 10

Google releases Chrome OS 72 with Google Assistant integration and other new features

If you want to check out this feature ahead of its release to the general public, it's available in the beta test version of Chrome for Windows and MacOS, and in Chrome Canary, the latter of which is more like a sturdy alpha.

Apart from that, Google has added a Picture-in-Picture mode in the Chrome Browser for its OS using which you can easily navigate between multiple sites on your Chrome Browser. More than that, there is also a new feature that allows users to access Google Drive directly through the File App. By doing this you will be able to access all the files that you have saved on Google Drive via Backup and Sync.

With Chrome 72, Google has optimised the browser for touchscreen devices in tablet mode and added app shortcuts for Android apps that are now searchable in the launcher, the company wrote in a blog post on Saturday. You can observe a pill-shaped bar at the center of the screen through which you can type to search or can simply control it with your voice just like you do in Android Pie.

Developers haven't forgotten about security either. "This security hardening measure helps protect users in the case of networking-related security vulnerabilities, such as one that resulted in persistent device compromise in 2016", said Google.

"Shill, the network manager for Chrome OS, has been put in a sandbox and no longer runs as the root user on the system".

The new version of Google's operating system comes with other new additions as well.
