POLICE in the USA state of Utah have warned against taking the Bird Box challenge after a teenager attempted it while driving - before crashing her auto.
Layton Police Department tweeted pictures on Friday of the aftermath of the incident, commenting "predictable result".
The challenge involves people moving around while wearing blindfolds, which originated from the Netflix film.
Clearly one teenager in Utah wasn't paying attention and went one further.
"Honestly I'm nearly embarrassed to have to say, 'Don't drive with your eyes covered, ' but you know apparently, we do have to say that", Lt. Lyman said. "The stakes are just so high, and it's just such a potentially risky thing as it is: to try and do it in that way is inexcusable".
"Apparently, as a part of this 'Bird Box Challenge, ' (the driver) used her beanie to pull over her eyes as she was driving on Layton Parkway, and she ended up losing control of her auto and skidded into the westbound lanes of Layton Parkway and hit another vehicle and ended up hitting a light pole as well", Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman told KSL.
She then lost control before skidding into the opposite lane and hitting another vehicle and a streetlamp.
Police say a Utah teenager crashed into another auto when she covered her eyes as part of the so-called "Bird Box Challenge".
