Scotty Pippen Jr., the son of former Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, announced he is committing to Vanderbilt next season.

According to 247Sports, Pippen ranks as the No. 30 point guard and No. 276 player overall in the 2019 class. However, basketball recruiting insiders like ESPN's Paul Biancardi have sung his praises as an underrated talent.

Pippen Jr. has made a decision to take his talents to Vanderbilt. I like the school a lot.

"They just needed a point guard", he said. "They want me to come in right away and be able to play the point and help run the team".

Pippen's father Scottie was a 10-time All-NBA defensive team selection and seven-time All-Star.

The 6-foot-1 guard from Sierra Canyon High School in California has played for the Oakland Soldiers on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging 15.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists over the 23-game season per ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

He committed to the Commodores after a visit to Vanderbilt in early January.

He also had Division I offers from Washington State, Colorado State, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara. He's considered a three-star recruit.
