Rain continues, more snow possible Sunday night

However, another band of snow will pass through later tonight with another couple inches of accumulation possible.

FOX 5's Gwen Tolbart says snow totals are continuing to increase for the area heading into Saturday evening, with most places now seeing light snow. Forecasters predict Wake County will be largely spared of winter weather but will see rain.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for portions of east central, eastern, south central and southeast Virginia, including Williamsburg.

Meteorologists are predicting freezing rain mainly north and east of Raleigh.

Periods of moderate snow will remain possible across central IL north of I-70 this evening.

Most of Kentucky is starting off to a very wet start for this Sunday.

The precipitation in the Piedmont will come to an end but we'll keep the chance for snow flurries in the mountains all day and overnight into Monday morning.

"Not that there's anything exciting going on in New England today, but if you happen to be outside, bundle up!" the National Weather Service said in a tweet - no doubt meaning other than the Patriots game. That area could also experience power outages.
