Dallas Mavericks fear torn Achilles tendon for J.J. Barea

Mavs coach Rick Carlisle told reporters that Barea would get an MRI on Saturday to determine the severity of what the team officially referred to as a "right lower leg injury".

The Dallas Mavericks believe J.J. Barea tore his right Achilles tendon during the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Several teammates, including Dirk Nowitzki, offered words of encouragement for Barea before he was helped into the locker room.

Barea finished with 16 points and seven assists before he exited the game on Friday against the Timberwolves.

Barea, 34, is averaging 10.8 points and 5.5 assists in almost 20 minutes off the bench this season.

Wizards guard Tomas Satoransky tallied his first career triple-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in Washington's 113-106 win over a Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Bucks team. He is by far one of the best backup point guards in the National Basketball Association.

Let's hope that J.J. Barea didn't tear his Achilles or suffer a serious long-term injury.

Doncic's first shot came in the paint to give the Mavs a 112-111 lead, his second gave them a 114-113 advantage and the third was on a transition 3-pointer to give Dallas a lead it would never relinquish.
