A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southeastern Iowa late Friday night through Saturday evening.

In Pettis County, the advisory goes into effect at 3 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday. Everyone will get a chance of an inch or so of snow with this system. "We'll see snow develop over the area as the night progresses Friday", said Winters.

The National Weather Service has signaled that a Winter Storm Warning will be in effect.

Snow showers will arrive across central IN by early Saturday morning. The heaviest amounts are forecast between 5 and 7 inches west and southwest of Springfield to Shelbyville to Olney. Those in the Watch area should begin preparing in case the storm does materialize.

If you're going to be traveling away from Central Indiana for the weekend, perhaps to see the Colts plays in Kansas City, you will want to plan to leave by early tomorrow morning. Make preparations at home by stocking emergency supplies, such as food, medicine, and extra heating fuel, just in case the storm makes travel impossible.
