He was also seen pretty alert when a few of the fans tried to get a bit close to click selfies with them.
Notable personalities from Bollywood like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Karan Johar, Rajkummar Rao, Alia Bhatt, Ekta Kapoor, Rohit Shetty, Varun Dhawan, Bhumi Pednekar among others were off to Delhi yesterday to meet PM Narendra Modi. As a community, there is a huge interest to contribute to nation building.
However, the EPIC selfie of the celebrities with the PM has taken the Internet by storm.
The group of bubbling talent from the Hindi film industry had a meeting with PM Modi in New Delhi on Thursday. There is so much that we want to do. In a video shared by Karan Johar in his Instagram, the filmmaker is seen introducing everyone in the video while onboard the flight. It was an honour! and we are grateful for your support towards the film industry!
When the youngest country (in demography) joins hands with the largest movie industry in the world, we hope to be a force to reckon with.
Mr Johar said the meeting would ignite positive changes. They touched upon many interesting ideas involving the film industry and the role it plays in nation building, and thanked him for his quick action in the recent reduction of GST on movie tickets.
There is a heap of male actors who have been called to represent the fraternity, while only 2-3 women will be present at the meeting.
The latest meeting, however, is a good step with the inclusion of names such as Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt and filmmakers Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and Ekta Kapoor. In December previous year, an 18-member panel including senior Bollywood stars, producers and directors had met PM Narendra Modi. The earlier group had consisted of Johar, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Roy Kapur and Ritesh Sidhwani, among others.
