"With just your voice, you'll be able to share your ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) with friends and family, reply to text messages, play music and podcasts, search for places along your route, add a new stop and auto-punctuate your message", the company said in a statement.
Apart from the Lenovo Smart Clock, Google has revealed that several other device makers are planning to include the digital assistant in their devices. Guided by a quirky narrator, the ride takes you through a day in the life of "Bob" as he uses the Google Assistant along the way.
The feature is set to roll out within the next few weeks.
This news was announced alongside that the Assistant now works with over 1,600 home automation brands and on more than 10,000 devices.
What this means is that if you own a Hopper, you can use it to control smart home appliances, check the weather, and, of course, control the Dish box. The Google Assistant is smart enough to understand the context and the whole experience was very slick. Each of the two human speakers gets to hear their words automatically translated.
Google has some bright new ideas for the Google Assistant over 2019. "We're also adding support for Google Keep, Any.do, Bring! and Todoist, when you want to keep track of your itinerary with notes and lists in the Google Assistant", Google said.
The smart clock, which is slated to go on sale in the spring, marks Google's latest foray into smart displays. This featire will start first with domestic flights with United Airlines in the US. With this feature, users are able to receive translations for dozens of languages and conduct conversations in real time.
Google Assistant Connect will allow Google to put its Assistant on the next generation of smart home devices. The feature has recently been integrated at hotel concierge desks across the US.
In Android, Google Assistant works with messaging systems such as SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger, Hangouts, Viber, Telegram, Android Messages and others. There is no word on when either of the feature will be released for the global consumers.
