The Cut Columnist apologises for calling Priyanka Chopra scam artist

Priyanka Chopra Nick Jonas Are Honeymooning In Oman Will Return To Mumbai To Host Reception On Dec 20

‘The Cut’ writer Mariah Smith apologises for article calling Priyanka Chopra a ‘scam artist’

Just when you thought Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's "wedding of the year" was fading into the past, the celebrity couple have been invited to do it all over again - this time in Dubai. "We've removed it and apologize".

Among those who hit out at article were Joe Jonas, the brother of Nick Jonas, and his fiance, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.

After the ensuing controversy, The Cut first published a watered-down version of Smith's article and later took it down altogether, saying that "upon further editorial review", the publication realised that it did not meet their editorial standards. The same lines greet a reader on the link to the article too now.

The Instagram posts also reveal that apart from Priyanka and Nick, their families also wore Ralph Lauren and Sabyasachi outfits for the wedding ceremonies.

When asked about the article at an event in New Delhi on Thursday, Chopra reportedly said, "It's not even in my stratosphere".

Joe wrote, "This is disgusting". What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. I'm in a happy place at this moment. "Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bullshit". She added that she is now happy and that such random things couldn't disturb her. Mommy Madhu Chopra's comments on the article, mirrored that of PeeCee's as she said that she didn't want to give publicity to "those fools". Sonam tweeted, "For a publication that "shows women's what they are made of" @TheCut has a lot to answer for". The article on @priyankachopra was sexist, racist and disgusting. It reeks of envy and bitterness.

Arjun Kapoor echoed her sentiment. It was followed by an equally grand wedding as per Hindu traditions on December 2.
