There is no shortage of Marvel games on nearly all platforms. The kicker? It's only on Nintendo Switch. But come 2019, that will change and the Switch will be getting its first major, serious non-LEGO Marvel superhero title.

It's not 100% clear who's publishing the new game but it seem to be Nintendo themselves, which implies they must've had some interesting conversations with Marvel. Or rather "was" fondly remembered, considering Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 was launched way back in 2009. That makes the 2019 launch all the more significant. It's like Super Smash Bros. but with Marvel characters. Ultimate Alliance 3 was revealed alongside a new trailer that featured members of the Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the villainous Thanos and his lackeys known as The Black Order.

Video game stories from other sites on the web. With another pair of Joy-Con (sold separately), four players can team up on one system. The game is said to bring superheroes and supervillains from the Marvel universe together to battle it out for the Infinity Gauntlet.

At the 2018 Game Awards, a third entry in the beloved Ultimate Alliance series was revealed, showing off a few hints at the familiar overhead hack-and-slash RPG gameplay.

What's curious is that the game is advertised as being a Switch exclusive.
