New Far Cry game revealed with post-apocalyptic setting

Post-apocalyptic Far Cry to be unveiled tomorrow

Post-Apocalyptic Far Cry Teased By Ubisoft, Reveal Coming Thursday

According to the teaser, the new Far Cry title will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but there's no release date just yet. In other words, I don't expect the company to announce Far Cry 6 (it's not impossible but I will really be surprised if it does).

Far Cry 5 launched earlier this year, so while it might seem too soon for the next chapter in the series, if the new game takes place within the same Hope County map, albeit with a post-apocalyptic twist, it would explain the relatively short development cycle. As for gameplay, the final moments of the teaser indicate some sort of unique weapon crafting system will be included.

"None of us were ready for The End". The flames devoured everything, and when death rolled through our valley, our world turned cold and dark. After years of nuclear winter and raging storms, things appear to be getting back to normal, with flowers blooming and blue skies appearing once more.

Ubisoft is expected to reveal more details at The Game Awards tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled for that. This would appear to be a post-apocalyptic Far Cry, complete with scrappy survivors. It seems Ubisoft is following a similar path to previous Far Cry games, like when the third game was followed by Blood Dragon and the fourth was followed shortly thereafter with Primal.

So far, that remains unclear, but luckily - we don't have long to find out.
