The Super Rugby franchise has released Etene Nanai-Seturo from pre-season duty to join the All Blacks Sevens in South Africa, ahead of this weekend's world series tournament in Cape Town.
In their pool matches, they were pummelled by South Africa 31-0, before losing narrowly to Argentina 22-19 and Samoa 17-15.
Argentina, runners-up in Cape Town past year, will face Spain in Pool B followed by Dubai runners-up United States of America taking on new core team Japan.
"The entire country celebrated the life of Nelson Mandela this year and we're honoured to also have an opportunity to pay our respects as in this specially designed "Madiba" jersey as part of SA Rugby's contribution to the centenary celebrations of our first democratically-elected president", Blitzboks captain Philip Snyman said. We have to go in lower with our tackles this weekend. With the help and the support of the home crowd, they hope to turn things around and be victorious this weekend. "That said, we know we can only improve from last week and that is a nice prospect".
"We are really happy to play in Cape Town this weekend and I think, especially coming off a not so good Dubai tournament, the guys will be ready and fired up and we believe we will be successful this weekend".
"Overall‚ the defensive line needs to be better and we have to work harder to get the ball back. What we want to do is build on that this weekend coming, which is what you have to do with each tournament - try to get better and better".
