Grace Millane is a 22-year-old woman from Essex, UK who arrived in New Zealand about two weeks ago.
'Grace has been missing for five days.
However she was travelling alone when she came to New Zealand about two weeks ago.
Mr Millane told Sky News their father was due to fly out on Wednesday evening and that they are receiving assistance from United Kingdom and New Zealand authorities.
Not only did Miss Millane fail to respond to any messages on her 22nd birthday on Sunday, but she also did not send Mr Millane a message on his birthday on Tuesday.
The family have posted on Facebook in the hope that others travelling in New Zealand can help find her. Thousands of people have shared the post.
Her father is said to be travelling to New Zealand to look for her.
"The last contact anyone else had with her was on Saturday, when her roommates asked what she was doing with her day".
"Initial inquiries are underway at this stage", a police spokesman said.
CCTV and social media is being combed for clues as to her whereabouts.
Her family, who said they spoke to her "most days", became concerned when she failed to reply to birthday messages on Sunday and said her silence was "completely out of character".
She had previously been in "constant contact" with her family using messaging service 'WhatsApp'. "We just want her to get in contact", he said.
"She hadn't liked any of the comments wishing her a happy birthday on Facebook or anything".
"We are really, really anxious and concerned about Grace".
Her phone is going straight to voice mail and has been silent on social media, Michael revealed.
Her family reported her missing to New Zealand Police who are in the process of investigating her disappearance.
Tony McLeod, British High Commission Wellington consular manager, said the commission was aware of the missing person report.
'We are unable to make further comment while police are investigating the matter'.
