"We were putting too much pressure on ourselves".
After dropping an embarrassing stinker to the Brooklyn Nets in the second game of a back-to-back, the Philadelphia 76ers bounced back after a three-day hiatus and put together one of their most complete wins of the season against a team that they very well could end up seeing again in the playoffs. This season, however, the former No. 1 overall pick has played in 11 games (all starts), racking up averages of 9.3 points on 39.3 percent shooting from the field (30.8 percent from beyond the arc), 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals in 2.3 minutes per outing.
76ers: Had lost their last two to the Pacers.
In the (seven) games where they've had six or more players score in double digits, the Sixers have a 5-1 record, including solid wins over the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Clippers and now the Indiana Pacers. And when they didn't get it, the 76ers took advantage. Robert Covington had 13 points, Landry Shamet had 12 and J.J. Philadelphia made 18 of 22 free throws but had only four offensive rebounds.
Joel Embiid's team highs of 20 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks overshadowed his five turnovers. Oladipo extended his career-best streak of consecutive 20-point games to 11.
Donovan Mitchell (23 points) top-scored for the Jazz, who won for the fourth time this season. IN was 12 of 17 from the free-throw line and 8 of 31 on 3-pointers. the only other player in double figures was Bojan Bogdanovic with 13.
"For sure, I mean nobody is ever 100 percent healthy in this game", he said. I wasn't myself but my teammates picked it up for me. "Everything feels good. You see me playing and I'm out here competing everyday".
76ers: Will attempt to keep their flawless home record intact Friday against Charlotte.
